Position Description
Position responsibilities include: supervision, including performance appraisal, of service engineers.
Assure customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement departmental procedures.
Assist the PIBU Service Manager with managing worldwide incremental growth of the Service department through new products, markets and acquisitions through scale-up.
Assist the PIBU Service Manager with generating Service yearly strategic plans, budget and EO level presentations.
Develop sales quotas for assigned service office(s).
Submit a weekly report on progress against monthly parts, training and service revenue forecast.
Achieve the business unit s budgeted parts and service sales quota for the year for assigned service office(s).
Management of field service estimate and retrofit quote generation, order and installations.
Repair of selected instruments, construction of service test fixtures, database development and maintenance.
Provide technical support for Sales and Engineering.
Travel to P&AI sites as necessary.
Communicate with the credit department for new customer accounts.
Insure the Service department procedures are always ISO9001 compliant and customer quality/regulatory system compliant when specified (EPA, FDA, DOT, etc).
Perform and manage service training activities for the channel and end customers.
Manage service support for phones, faxes, order status, etc.
Responsible for management of Field Service inventory.
Assist PIBU Service Manager with management of Spare Parts price list and price list generation.
Interface and support our international offices.
Perform additional duties as required.
Position Requirements
B.S. in Engineering, Science or Business with analytical or science studies and/or equivalent industry/military experience plus some training in chemistry and analytical instrumentation.
Five or more years demonstrated experience in technical, sales or service management of instrumentation into industrial markets. Must possess application knowledge of process analyzers and applications.
Must be capable of handling tools and material as heavy as 75 lbs.
Must be able to climb heights up to 250 feet.
Must be available for extensive domestic and international travel.
Good writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to motivate and direct service personnel.
Good time management skills.
Good people skills with customers, representatives and employees.
Capable of using computers for word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Must be willing to shave any facial hair as required by safety restrictions at the customer's site. Due to AMETEK's participation with third party health and safety organizations, all service colleagues are required to register with AMETEK's partnering organizations to facilitate servicing our customers by meeting their random drug & alcohol testing and health & safety training requirements
