Job Description

Professionals who work on management consulting (MC) projects within Accenture's Life Sciences R&D Practice are focused on how to improve returns from existing business and achieve sustainable high performance.

R&D MC professionals identify and implement high performance business value creation and transformation opportunities by delivering independent strategic and general management consulting services focused on the R&D senior leadership agenda. The R&D Consultant working on MC projects, will be at the core of understanding and responding to our clients' R&D business challenges. Consultants will be involved in a range of activities from assessing a client's business capabilities to conducting business transformation activities across R&D and/or at the functional area (departmental) level.

Our work is performed on site with our clients, and depending on candidate location this position may require travel up to 80%, typically weekly, Monday - Thursday.

Responsibilities

The R&D Management Consulting Consultant R&D will be responsible for:

Overall / Functional Area Business Transformation Delivery -
Conducting industry and client research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
Gathering and documenting client's current business processes, people and technology capabilities and requirements.

Providing strong R&D functional knowledge and industry trends.
Performing financial assessments to support the development of new business processes and architecture.
Designing, developing and delivering new business processes, capabilities and supporting technologies.
Developing communications, training and job aids to support change management activities.
Executing the testing and implementation of new business processes and/or organizational model changes. Leading a small team to execute project components to scope, schedule and budget.

Client Relationship Development and Management -
Delivering client presentations and facilitating meetings and workshops.

Practice Building -
Supporting the growth of the practice through assisting with new business proposals and presentations, recruitment activities, coaching and mentoring to analysts.

Ability to meet travel requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Requirments

2 + years of management consulting experience with an emphasis in Management Consulting

2 + years of R&D experience

Bachelors degree; science degrees preferred

Preferred Skills

Research and analysis skills as well as diagnosis skills.
Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Professional Skill Requirements

Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skill.
